This mug invokes the summer solstice in the garden. It is handmade of white stoneware clay that was thrown on the pottery wheel. It is decorated with my own hand drawn pen and ink sunflower drawings converted into iron rich transfer decals, applied to the pottery and fired a third time to completion. The handle is expertly crafted to fit comfortably in the hand. Mugs are one of my favorite pots to make because they are by far the most popular items in my kitchen, and because they pose such an interesting design challenge.
All of the pottery is handmade by me, in my home studio. It is my goal to create one of a kind pots that are made to use. All pottery is microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. Lead-free
