This mug was handmade on the potter's wheel from a smooth white clay. The mug was decorated with a hand drawn pen and ink hydrangea drawing converted into an iron rich decal, applied to the pottery and fired a third time to completion.
The handle is crafted to fIt comfortably in the hand. Mugs are one of my favorite pots to make because they are by far the most popular items in my kitchen, and because they pose such an interesting design challenge.
