This set of Hosta leaf dishes is pressed from fresh leaves. I live out in the country, and the closest home to mine is a 100-year-old log cabin with a patch of hostas just as old, growing down to the banks of the stream. Their long, smooth, even veins press beautifully into the clay. I shape each dish organically so the fired piece holds the grace of the living leaf. The dishes are finished with a red iron wash to highlight the veins and a soft satin-mustard glaze.
All of the pottery is handmade by me, in my home studio. It is my goal to create one of a kind pots that are made to use. All pottery is microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. Lead-free
