This mug was handmade on the potter's wheel from a smooth white clay. The mug was carved using a hand drawn steal your face design that was incised and stained prior to glazing. The outside is decorated with a glossy clear glaze. The handle is expertly crafted to fIt comfortably in the hand. All glazes are handmade in my studio.
Mugs are one of my favorite pots to make because they are by far the most popular items in the kitchen, and because they pose such an interesting design challenge.
