This mug was handmade on the potter's wheel from a smooth white clay. The mug features a carved, hand drawn calendula plant that was stained prior to glazing. The handle is expertly crafted to fIt comfortably in the hand. Mugs are one of my favorite pots to make because they are by far the most popular items in my kitchen, and because they pose such an interesting design challenge.
